Write for us
Silver Home Journal welcomes pitches that help readers see domestic spaces differently: a lucid explanation of a design choice, a useful comparison, a fresh look at an interior convention or a grounded account of how materials and light shape a room.
What makes a good pitch
Send a concise proposal that states the central idea, why it matters to readers interested in interiors, and what the piece will let them notice or decide. Name the specific room, object, material or design question at its centre, and explain how your approach differs from familiar advice. We favour focused, original work over broad trend roundups.
Voice and evidence
Write with visual precision and a clear point of view, while separating personal taste from factual claims. Pitches should not depend on unverified claims, undisclosed commercial interests or access readers cannot reasonably expect. Tell us about any relevant interests or relationships connected to the subject.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to send your pitch. Include a proposed title, a short outline and a brief note about your approach. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for revisions before accepting a piece.
A room is a composition in use
We look beyond finished-room pictures to the relationships between light, form, materials and daily life. The aim is to help readers notice choices, not prescribe one right way to live.
